There’s no place like Nova Scotia in the summertime!
To help you make the most of this beautiful weather, we’ve put together a list of our five favourite road trips to take in Nova Scotia:
1. The Cabot Trail
Cape Breton’s Cabot Trail boasts some of the most stunning sights in Canada. While driving or hiking the trail are amazing experiences in themselves, there there are tons of other things to do along the way as well. Some of our favourites include whale watching, kayaking, and camping.
2. Annapolis Valley
The Annapolis Valley is Nova Scotia’s version of wine country. Many local vineyards offer tours, tasty meals, and sampling. If you don’t have a designated driver, you can catch one of many guided tours that hit up multiple vineyards, such as the Wolfville Magic Winery Bus or Grape Escapes. It’s also fun to camp for the night at breathtaking Blomidon Provincial Park.
Parrsboro is a bit of a hidden gem. It doesn’t always make it on the “Top 5” or “Top 10” lists, but we thought it deserved a spot on ours. Why? Dinosaurs! The Joggins Fossil Cliffs and Fundy Geological Museum are home to fossils of prehistoric creatures, including dinosaurs, found right here in Nova Scotia.
5. Peggy’s Cove
We know it’s cliche, but Peggy’s Cove is actually really cool! From the iconic lighthouse to the old-school fishing village, it has to be one of the most picturesque places in the province. And if you look hard enough, there’s more to do than just see the sights – scuba diving and kayaking, for example.
So what are you waiting for? Get out there and enjoy the beauty this province has to offer while the sun is shining!
